Who is the course suitable for?
Portafilter newbies without much previous knowledge, interested in espresso from the portafilter and everything that goes with it
What topics do we cover?

Coffee science - structure of the coffee cherry, growing countries, processing, green coffee science, Arabica VS Canephora

Sensory - 3 phase extraction

Espresso basics, a little machine knowledge, a short grinder knowledge, adjustment screws for the perfect espresso, preparation methods, brew ratio,...

Milk frothing - jug selection, pulling and rolling phases! NOTE: NO LATTE ART! Please book the Latte Art course for this

Cleaning - while we enjoy the last cappuccino you have prepared perfectly, we will talk briefly about the correct cleaning and clarify any remaining questions

Each participant can work at their own portafilter station provided by us and use it to conjure up delicious espressos. We have machines from Lelit, Rocket and Bezzera, as well as grinders from Eureka and Mazzer

A small snack will be provided on site, handout included

The course is held by an SCA Professional certified barista
Duration: Approx. 2.5 - 3 hours, please arrive 5-10 minutes earlier
Cost: 199€ incl. VAT per person
Participants: 4-6 participants (if you bring a machine, 7 are possible, but this MUST be registered in advance!)
